How to build your self-esteem?

Achievements and awards raise your self-confidence. But you should remember to not build on them your self-esteem. You can fall into the trap, where your self-esteem will be conditional on external factors, such as opinion of others.

Your life and well-being should not be related to the role you play, but to the fact that you exist. If you accept yourself, and you are convinced that you are right the way you are, it means that you have health self-esteem. In other words, self-esteem is your opinion about yourself.

Building your self-esteem takes time but you can help a little yourself by positive affirmation. Every time you stand in front of the mirror in the morning say to yourself "I like myself" and repeat this several times.

“The first step toward being loved is learning to love what you see when you look in the mirror.” ― Tadahiko Nagao

I learn this from Brian Tracy. Below you can watch video explaining meaning of this affirmation.

From time to time you lacks confidence but if you have low self-esteem you are unhappy with yourself most of the time.

If you feel unsatisfied about yourself. Try to find one thing, you like in yourself and be grateful for this one thing. Next find another thing and another... Feeling gratitude is feeling love to yourself and is one of the best methods to boost your self-esteem.
